Well locatedThe Touessrok enjoys of a priviledged location. A few steps away from the Deer Island, and from a private islet, Mangénie isle, it allows you to play Robinson if you want, or enjoy the legendary Mauritian service. Everything in a charming setting.

On the oceanfront, on Trou d'Eau Douce site, 9.3 miles away from Centre de Flacq. Plaisance airport is located 28.6 miles away from here, about 1 hour driving.
The hotel is member of the notorious Leading Hotels of the World label. It offers 4 beaches on 12.4 miles. It offers a private ilslet, Mangenie, where you can live like Robinson Crusoe. All the nautical activities take place on the Deer Island, located 5 minutes away by the hotel's ship ( shuttles provided). On this island, you can also find a competition golf course drawn by Bernard Langer.
Lodging advice:
Stay away from the Frangipane wing if you are a light sleeper ( lots of passing trolleys loaded with luggage in the morning ).
Built in 1978 and renovated in 2002, the hotel is simple and sober, structured as a traditional village with thatched roofs and whitewashed walls. It is connected to the Hare Island by a gangway that forms one of the wings of the hotel structure. Scheduled shuttles are available for Mangenie Isle, a private site, and the Deer Island. A swimming pool of 100 m² overlooks the lagoon. Another one, smaller ( 25 m²), is located on the Hare Island. Both are surrounded by nice areas planted with trees and flowers. Simple but fancy, the decoration in the reception hallway and the lounges is based on authentic materials : wrought iron stairways handrails, coconut wooden low tables with mother-of-pearl inlays, sofas covered with pastel fabrics and columns covered with stunning flower arrangements.
The hotel has 200 rooms spread out in one-level bungalows. The rooms are divided in 80 standard rooms of 36 m², 79 superior rooms of 45 m², 37 junior suites of 60 m², a coral suite of 70 m², two York and Princess suites of 90 m² and a royal suite of 300 m². These last three suites are fitted out with an individual jacuzzi. All the rooms have a sea view and some of them have direct access to the beach. The standard room is spacious and bright, decorated with patterns of varnished wooden on a beige background. The furniture with pure lines is nice and warm. The marble bathroom offers a bathtub, a shower, a hair-dryer, bathrobes and Molton Brown welcome products. The room offers also satellite TV, a big individual safe, adjustable air-conditioning, a mini-bar and a direct telephone line for international calls. All the rooms are fitted out with a large balcony ( upstairs ) or a sundeck ( on the ground level ) with a teak garden lounge. The room service works 24 hours a day.
There are also four restaurants and three others accessible for the clients of the hotel on the Deer Island and Mangenie Isle. The main restaurant, '' The Three-Nine-Eight'' dominates the swimming pool on one side and the lagoon on the other side. Here you can have breakfast and dinner served buffet-style. With an original concept, it offers each evening nine different world cuisines, with show-cooking stands, where you can have Italian pastas, Chinese noodles, Thai skewers... Open in the evening, the ''le Safran'' restaurant offers high standing Indian dishes in a setting with a flaming decoration of purple and golden patterns. Another option, the ''Barlen's'' restaurant offers a contemporary cuisine with Asian colors, in a room fitted out according to feng shui principles. On Deer Island, ''la Chaumière'' serves a cuisine specialized in curries and ''Le Paul et Virginie'' offers sea fruits and grillings. On Mangenie Isle, reserved exclusively for the clients of the Touessrok, ''la Résidence de Robinson'', located on the beach, offers a la carte dishes including specially spiny lobsters and oysters.
Four beaches and two islands ( about 12.4 miles of fine sand ) are the idleness heritage of the Touessrok. Facing the hotel, the lagoon water is a little muddy because of the lagoon, but you are sure to find crystal clear water near the Deer Island. The place is not too windswept and pretty calm, despite the comings and goings of the ships to the Deer Island. However, the pass silting-up is worrying, because the sea continuously recedes while leaving behind a bigger beach. All the necessary amenities are available ( deckchairs, thatched sunshades, showers, bar, restaurant). All the nautical activities take place in the Deer Island. Here you can practice free nautical ski, free diving ( equipment supplied ), windsurfing, kayaking, glass-bottomed boat, pedalo and canoe. You should expect additional charges for bottle diving, parasailing, banana, ringo and game fishing.
