Hotel Club Kawama

Located between the Paso Malo lagune and a small, quiet private beach, at the entrance of the town, the Kawama is 5 minutes from Varadero centre and 20 minutes from the airport. Havana is 90 miles away. Only two other hotels are near Kawama.

The hotel is quite far from the other tourist complexes. There are two swimming pools, one of which is reserved for children.

Built in 1930, this hotel is one of the oldest on the peninsula but it was renovated in 2002. The hotel is made up of stone houses in the style of haciendas and more modern houses scattered in a garden. A big reception hall in bright colours welcomes customers. It is decorated in wrought iron, plants and stone. Large bay windows let the light filter in.

The 235 rooms are in bungalows and stone houses. All rooms have satellite television, telephone, minibar, safe, and air conditioning. The decor is simple. The bathroom has a shower, WC, wash basin and hair dryer. Some rooms have a terrace.

4 Restaurants including a buffet proposing international and also Italian and Cuban cuisine. The buffet restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It is in a room with stone arches and wooden beams. The Italian and international restaurant are open for dinner. The Cuban restaurant offers the island's specialties at midday and in the evening. 3 bars and a snack bar for holiday makers.

It's a small quiet beach with a few palm trees. Parasols and deckchairs are available. A sailing club proposes many activities (Catamaran, Kayak, pedal boats, diving with tubas).
