South-east of Vienna, in the vicinity of Karlsplatz and Stephensplatz subway stations in a lively neighbourhood, in the famous Mariahilfer Strasse shopping street. Vienna airport is 15.5 miles away, count 25 minutes for transfers. By taxi, the fare is approximately 31 pounds.

A member of the prestigious Small Luxury Hotels of the World label, the Das Tyrol is a small, charming hotel nestled in a Vienna style building dating from 1897 which was last renovated in 2000. It has 30 rooms in a classic 6-storey building equipped with a traditional elevator. Hallways are decorated with numerous modern paintings. Indeed, don't be surprised to see several portraits of Donald and Daisy in some hallways. The Das Tyrol is open throughout the year and can accommodate 75 guests. A bar serves various drinks and snacks from 10:00 AM to midnight. In the basement, you will find a wellness centre with three hydromassage showers, a sauna, and a hammam, all at your disposal without additional charge.

In the rooms of the Das Tyrol, you will feel right at home: a bell at the door announces any visitor! With green fitted carpet, the rooms of the Das Tyrol have satellite TV with 37 channels, including Euronews, CD and DVD player, telephone with Wifi Internet connection, minibar, quiet individual air conditioning, free electronic safe with code, radiator, desk, sofa-bed, armchair, round table and two separate beds with a very comfortable, soft comforter. A very clean bathroom, nicely decorated with flowers, includes a bathtub with handle, flexible shower, toilets in the room, make-up mirror, hair dryer, handkerchiefs, scale and welcome toiletries, as well as a robe and slippers. Don't hesitate to drink tap water: It is excellent and comes straight from the Alpine springs! Room service from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM. The 4 suites have a balcony.

As is the case for many Vienna hotels, the Das Tyrol has no restaurant, there are many restaurants everywhere in town. A delicious breakfast is served from 7 to 10:30 AM in a small ,elegant room. The buffet is refined, and you can order various types of omelettes. A good oportunity to savour salmon, cheese, pastries, hot chocolate, or fresh-squeezed orange juice.
