On the famous Ring, the entrance of the old city, northern Vienna, close to Schottentor (U2) subway station, in a lively area. Vienna airport is 15.5 miles away, count 20 minutes for transfers. By taxi, the fare is approximately 28 pounds.

Open throughout the year, the Hotel de France, a member of the Austrian group Austria Trend, which also includes the Bellevue hotel in Vienna, can accommodate a maximum of 350 guests. Built in 1872 and renovated for the last time in 2007, the Hotel de France has 194 rooms in a nice Viennese style buildings with 6 storeys, with a spacious and elegant elevator with fitted carpet. The inside is superb: monumental staircase, gildings, chandeliers, statues and paintings give the decor extraordinary character. A large, beautifully decorated living room topped with a glass roof includes a piano bar which starts at 7:00 PM. There, you will find a large plasma television screen and international newspapers. Fitness lovers can exercise free of charge in a well-equipped exercise room featuring the latest machines and complimentary drinks. Afterwards, you can relax on the wooden patio which has a wooden table and four wooden chairs.

With fitted carpets, the rooms of the Hotel de France are spacious (322 feet²) and very well-decorated. They have a flat-screen television, a free electronic safe with code, very quiet individual air conditioning, a minibar with tea and coffeemaking appliance (free) and telephone with Internet access, as well as very convenient everyday items such as a shoehorn or a brush. Wide windows offer beautiful views of the Ring. Room service is offered 24 hours a day. The bathroom is relatively small but very clean and well-decorated, and includes a tub with handle and flexible shower, toilets in the room, bidet, telephone,handkerchiefs, robe, hair dryer , and welcome toiletries. The Hotel de France also offers 17 2-storey bungalows, with the room upstairs and a sitting room with desk and two-person sofa bed on the ground floor. They have separate toilets, an iron and ironing board, and a scale. Every floor has its own television. Last, those who select one of the 8 sumptuous 591 feet² suites, marvellously decorated in genuine Viennese style, will of course enjoy even more luxury, with a double sink in the large bathroom, slippers, cordless telephone, and a second bathroom with a large separate tropical shower.

The Hotel de France has a superb restaurant, elegantly decorated: blue carpet, chandeliers, mirrors, paintings and portraits, and a bust of the Empress Maria-Theresa, create a very pleasant environment for your meals: delicious à la carte Viennese and international cuisine, accompanied by outstanding wines. Breakfast is served from 6:30 AM to 10:30 AM, lunch from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, and dinner from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. In the evening, you can also sip various drinks and cocktails in the Atrium bar of the sitting room while listening to the piano.
