Hotel Maradiva Villas

The hotel is located on the seafront, along the beach of Wolmar, 3 miles away from the village of Flic en Flac. The airport is 28 miles away. It takes about one hour to one hour and a half for transfer depending on the traffic in Port-Louis.

The first highlight of the Taj Exotica is its accommodation : each room is located in a private villa with a swimming pool.
The second strong point is the ayurvedic spa. With an area of 2 000 m², it includes 6 massage rooms ( including 2 double with a private jacuzzi ) and a therapeutic outdoor pool with massage jets. The treatments are offered after medical consultation : a la carte or in half-day to one day packages. For an exotic programme, try for example the Pranam, which includes a meditation session, a massage on a traditional wooden table, an Indian lunch by the edge of the swimming pool and an Ayurvedic facial care.
Note also that the hotel offers facilities for families : villas for 2 adults and 2 children, a mini-club hosting children aged 3 to 11 years from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. non-stop.

The Taj Exotica opened in November 2004. Its architecture is both Creole and Asian. The shingle roofs, a lobby with visible beams overlooking the lounges with sober lines dominated by burgundy and mahogany. It looks spectacular in the evening, when the lighting enhance the shades of wood and fabrics. The lobby does not overlook the swimming pool, but onto an alley lined with lawns leading to the villas. The swimming pool is located on the seafront, next to the building housing the bar and the restaurant. Stretching over 400 m², it has the distinction of being in black slate. A surprising choice at first glance, but it does fit well into the landscape in full noon, the colour of the swimming pool referring to the Indian Ocean in the background, with between them, the indigo and the turquoise of the lagoon. A beautiful sun lounge is housed on one of the lengths of the swimming pool, with a pergola, deckchairs and teak sofas, mattresses and canvas sunshades. Towels are available.

At the Taj Exotica, all the accommodations are on the ground level and what is usually a double room is a villa with an area of 163 m² with inside and outside lounge, a tea / coffee kit with an espresso machine, a bathroom with an outdoor shower and a 14 m² private pool. There are 49 lodgings of this category. 6 superior suites on the waterfront can accommodate 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children. With identical facilities, except for an even bigger area and a 25 m² swimming pool. Finally, the presidential suites offer 60 m² of a private swimming pool in an area of 350 m². As for fabrics and materials, note the floor made in teak in the bathroom, the doors in rosewood and the furniture in sandalwood. Luxurious, elegant without being too ostentatious.

The main restaurant is located in a building opened ont? the gardens and the beach. There is no buffet, but only a service which allows in the morning to eat a plate of fresh fruits, cheese, eggs in Dutch style, the banana pancakes or all prepared at once if desired. At noon, the menu offers a variety of dishes (fish, seafood, meat). In the evening, the service is fixed menus. The menu offers two and three choices for each dish, so that everyone can have a vegetarian, Mediterranean or Asian dinner. For an extra charge, it is possible to enjoy the refined and private setting of one of the maharadjah tents set facing the lagoon. The Taj Exotica also has a gastronomic restaurant, the Cilantro, the building of which is located next to the reception, is divided into two houses : Indian cuisine on one side, Japanese and Chinese on the other side.

The beach is located along the bay of Tamarin, a place where the view opens until the Morne. A superb view at sunset. Perfectly fitted out, the beach also offers areas of preserved nature, with trees and greenery and almost with feet in the water. The deckchairs are set on a vast area of sand stretched over 750 meters in length and 100 meters in width. You can therefore relax for a while at home, having the impression of having the beach only for yourself. It is loacted opposite the lagoon, where the turquoise horizon and indigo waters alternate. As for leisures, it is possible to practise windsurfing, kayaking, pedalo and water skiing. No diving centre on the spot, but the hotel will reserve for you diving and transfers to the water club La Pirogue .
