 Climate and Seasons

India has three main seasons: winter, summer and the monsoon season.
To travel to Rajasthan, winter or the dry season, from October to March is the best period with a dry and bright weather. Temperatures vary between 15 to 20°C. Nights could be cold, between 5 to 9°C, from November to February.
In summer from March to May ending, the heat is scorching and can easily attain 50°C in the Jaisalmer. The first signs of the monsoon set in by May ending beginning June with high humidity. Short and violent storms rage.
The monsoon lasts until September ending with heavy rains and low temperatures. Generally, avoid this period, as you will encounter serious difficulties travelling. Flights are cancelled while roads and railways are blocked.
