Between Colaba and the Fort on Mahatma-Gandhi Rd, the Indo-Muslim styled Prince of Wales Museum comprises an ornamental garden. Discover, among others, the parched land of the Indus Valley, its sculpted ivory and Moghul miniatures.
Behind the Prince of Wales Museum, the Modern Arts Museum and the Jehangir offer temporary exhibitions of contemporary Indian art.
The Wellington Circle, equally known as the Regal Theatre, hosts the renowned Regal film hall with its Art deco style.
Climbing back to Shahid Bhagat Singh Mg towards the Fort neighbourhood, the Town Hall with its neo-classical style houses the library of the Royal Asiatic Society. Walk around in a studious atmosphere, take note of its cast iron loggia, and a collection of marble statues.
Moving towards Malabar Hill, stop over at Mani Bhavan, a museum dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi where he lived. An exhibition of paintings, photos and miniatures depict the different stages of his life.
To the north of the town centre, in the Victorian gardens, the Victoria and Albert museums host the relics of the city. At the entrance, admire a large elephant made of stone brought back from Elephanta Island, while outside you will find the row of quaint statues of personalities of the colonial period.
