In the Kashmir Valley, surrounded by the Jhelum, is a fertile and verdant region called the "happy valley". It is closed in the west and in the south by the high Pir Panjal snowed-topped mountains, and in the east by the Himalayan mountain range with Nun's (23409 ft) and Kun's (23251 ft) imposing snowed-topped mountains, Kashmir's highest peaks.
