In the new city of Jaipur, the Albert Hall Museum is home to a museum of Rajput traditional clothing and portraits of Maharajas. In Bikaner, the Sadul Singh museum found in the Old City is devoted to the town's rulers with 35,000 pictures and exhibitions of the things they used each day. In Jodhpur, the Mehrangarh Museum, in the heart of the fortress, houses sumptuous palanquins and cradles to move about on backs of elephants, miniature collections of the lifestyles of rulers of various Rajput schools of thought. Get into the Maharaja's bedroom with its sandal wooden marquetry ceiling and wall paintings. In Udaipur, out of the walls of the fortress, you find the Popular Arts museum and a puppets performance taking place every hour and, sometimes, dances in the evenings.
