Small village, located on the seafront, Candidasa offers a peaceful contrast to the busy climate of Kuta. The town, which has grown thanks to the hotel industry, offers little sites of cultural interest. The coastline is washed by calm and transparent seas, providing opportunities for scuba diving, but unfortunately the beaches are narrow, covered with a dark sand and especially disfigured by concrete piers.

A small village, located on the seafront, Candidasa offers a peaceful contrast to the busy area of Kuta. Just behind the lagoon, you will come upon a small fishing village. Along the coast, you can make a pretty ballad on the background of the beautiful scenery. Excursions are offered to Mount Agung and Besakih Temple.

Candidasa beach resort is relatively calm but you would better avoid the hotels in the village. You will feel quieter in the eastern part of the lagoon. The hotels are hidden by palm trees, near the fishing village of origin.

The food on Candidasa is quite good but there is no real local specialities. Most hotels overlook the sea and terraces are popular during lunch and dinner offering a convivial atmosphere. Formerly a small fishing village, you can still enjoy good fish.
