The country enjoys a Mediterranean climate with hot, dry summers (40°C and above; it is scorching in the valley of the Jordan river, on the banks of the Dead Sea and the Negev Desert) and mild and wet winters(cooler in the mountains) around 10-12°C. Rain falls between October and March, so spring time (April/May) is the ideal season to travel (temperatures range between 17 and 30°C).
