You are strongly advised against taking a photograph of a pious Jew, especially during Sabbath. If you discuss religion or politics, listen, but don't say too much, or at least, try to moderate your standpoint. Whatever your views, know that you are in an extemely sensitive environment.
Respect places of worship: be discreet and dress appropriately. In Jewish Orthodox neighbourhoods, women must avoid wearing trousers, they will not be appreciated.
A little lesson in piety: although you may be more 'uncovered' in churches, you must cover up in synagogues and you must take off shoes in mosques and Muslim homes. As for Kosher restaurants, avoid ordering milk products and meat at the same meal, you are free to drink wine though.
