The oasis of Jericho, located in the Jordan Valley 22 miles northeast of Jerusalem is controlled by the Palestinian Authorities. As with Bethlehem, tourists have no problem visiting the city. A marked itinerary will help you discover the archeological site of Tel Jericho, where you will see the imposing wall which dates back to the 3rd millennium. ?The oldest town in the world' according to archeologists, was the first conquest of the Hebrews once they returned from Egypt. In the archeological park, you will discover vestiges of a Muslim palace from the Omeyyade era; the palace of Hisham, which has conserved its superb mosaic bath adorned with gazelles and floral designs.
