The Museum of Illegal Immigration recounts the history of Jewish colonies which defied British rule by immigrating illegally into Palestine and disregarding the imposed quotas. You can see models of the boats which transported them and 'the Exodus' of boats which transported survivors of the Shoah, who were forced back by the English in front of the port of Haifa. This is a 'must see', together with the very beautiful Reuben-and-Edith-Hecht Museum of the University of Haifa which presents all the cultures and civilisations that have lived in the Land of Israel, through a remarkable archeological collection. It also possesses paintings by Monet, Pissaro, Modigliani and Soutine. Finally, take a visit to the National Maritime Museum, where you will find models and archeological vestiges which illustrate the maritime history of the Eastern Mediterranean.
