At Messina, you can take time off to visit the Piazza del Duomo that houses a magnificent fountain, the Fontana di Orione. The cathedral and Santa Annunziata dei Catalani church is also found in the same place. Both buildings date back to the 12th century. You must also pay a visit to the regional museum on the Piazza del Museo. It exhibits very beautiful religious paintings from the Renaissance and Baroque eras.
