The Tanaro River divides the land of Asti into two, with each side boasting a different layout and landscape. The northern part is favoured by those who like nature walking and exploring, with its host of inspiring spots including medieval castles, little villages full of history, and small chapels lost in the middle of nature. The southern part, in contrast, is dominated by vineyards that stretch as far as the eye can see and offer multi-coloured displays come autumn. Don't forget to visit the cellars, like Canelli for example, where Muscat and sparkling Asti Spumante are produced. The region also boasts a number of museums dedicated to the winemaking process.
