Qusayr'el Kharaneh

Qusayr'el Kharaneh Qasr Kharana castle This castle dates back to the time of Caliph Walid I and was built to serve as a defense. P.de Franqueville

Also constructed under Caliph Walid I, this majestic structure was more of a fortress than the other castles, illustrated by its quadrangular shape, raised walls, arrow slits and four angle towers. On the ground floor, on either side of the hall, there ware camel reserves and stables, while apartments (bayt) were distributed on each wing of the building, around the central courtyard.
