Performance at the Bombolulu Cultural Centre A project that trains and employs some 200 people with disabilities, the Bombolulu Workshops and Cultural Centre were founded in 1969 © Kenya Tourist Board
Founded in 1969, the Bombolulu Cultural Centre was formed by the Union of the Disabled People of Kenya (UDPK). At the time, workshops were set up to train and employ people with disabilities. With more than 150 members, the UDPK has enabled them to learn technical trades and handicraft. In 1994, the cultural centre was added where you'll find exhibitions showing the rural life of the past and the rural life of today. Visitors have the opportunity to buy local products that are crafted on-site. The contribution from these sales enables the centre to continue its work.
