Miles and miles of splendid coastline extend to the north and the south of the huge coastal city of Mombasa. Visitors can choose to head north the the beaches of Nyali, Bamburi and Kikambala, or south to the celebrated beach of Diani. Venture even further from Mombasa and you'll no doubt enjoy the chic Lamu archipelago, the tranquil Funzi Island or the lovely and lovely Malindi. There are many accommodation options to suit all tastes and budgets, from a cosy cottage to the well-appointed five star resorts and everything in between. The coast to the north of Mombasa is perhaps more beautiful but there isn't as much choice when it comes to hotels and resorts.
