Lake Victoria

Lake Victoria must be seen, this is the largest fresh water lake in Equatorial Africa (and the largest tropical lake in the world) with a surface area of 26,560 square miles. The lake contains a hefty population of Nile perch, a species that was introduced to the lake in the 1950s, a species so ferocious that it has contributed to the extinction or near-extinction of hundreds of the lake's native species. A fierce predator, the Nile perch even feeds on its own kind!
