Located on Lake Victoria, Mfangano Island is truly a journey "back to the roots." Here there are no cars and no electricity. It is not a very touristic island in spite of the superb excursions it offers. Here the vegetation is quite varied, from the richly perfumed lantana, to the yellow olianda that supposedly brings luck, from the banana trees to the fig trees. You will also find several bird species: milans, cormorans, tisserins... Mfangano can be summed up as a place rich in nature but perfectly tranquil.
