Organised between May-June, Bun Bang Fai is celebrated throughout the country but also in the northeast of Thailand, and marks the end of the dry season. The height of the festival is when impressive rockets are propelled into the sky to provoke rain. Though bamboo-made launchers have been preserved, rockets are now built using modern equipment.
