Two-thirds of Liechtenstein is found on the foothills of the Tyrolean Alps in the southeast of the country (5,905 to 8,530 feet). Larch forests and alpine flora cover the foot of the mountain while the summits are whitened with everlasting snow. To the west, the rest of the country is on a floodplain formed by the large Rhine valley.
