An eagle owl in Liechtenstein The eagle owl is very common in the alpine regions: it builds its nest in forests that cover very steep rocky slopes and takes refuge in the cavities of trees or in the cracks of the rocks. © D.R.
The wildlife is typical of alpine highlands (deers, chamois, black grouses, pheasants, hazel grouses, marmots, badgers, stoats...) There is also a great variety of flora including primroses and orchids. Forests there house larches, maple trees, lime trees, elm trees and ash trees.
