Every year, on 4th March, all Lithuanians celebrate Casimir, their patron saint, an historical figure who lived in the 15th century and was grand duke of Lithuania. Saint Casimir's day is celebrated throughout the country, particularly in Vilnius where celebrations last for a whole month, with a handicraft fair in the old town open every Sunday in March.
