The country's mountains are excellent for winter sports and the infrastructure is particularly well developed. There are several resorts that are ideal for recreation and relaxation. Popova Sapka, west of Skopje, is a 13 square miles skiable area. The resort is sunny and snowy a hundred and thirty-five days in a year. On Mount Bistra, Mavrovo resort, located in the national park, is endowed with splendid forests. Krusevo, around Prilep, a small town with a health resort 4,200 feet high offers skiing and many other activities like parachute jumping. The region has a few historical and cultural sites.
