Plant life

Apart from the numerous endemic species, Madagascar boasts a broad and varied tropical plant life, be it in the vast tropical forests predominant in the south and east of the country or in the savannah and coastal plains. Among the most renowned species are the travellers' palm tree (ravanela madagascariensis) and the baobab, one of the species of which form an alley in the north of Morondava on the west coast, forming one of the most famous sites of Madagascar. A superb view at sunset.
