On Borneo island, the province of Sabah offers a trek on Mount Kinabalu, 13,695 feet high, in the heart of the National Park itself. The decor is similar to Taman Negara, but with rubber plantations. Upon arrival, the price is worth the effort with a magnificent view of the forest and Crocker massif.
