Penang island is the most famous for being the oldest seaside destination. But buildings have popped up, and tourists have increased, so you might not get the change of scenery. There are however, a few natural sites and interesting temples further in the centre of the island, but the beaches are growing dirtier and water is sometimes muddy, and even polluted.
