Putrajaya is the administrative capital of Malaysia. Originally made up of tea and rubber plantations, it is today a "futuristic" city of the new millennium. Built in 1993, Putrajaya has no historic monuments, but boasts an information network based on the latest multimedia technologies. The city has no less than nine bridges of which one is meant for trains only. It is made up of five districts. Putrajaya is surrounded by lush vegetation. There you will discover beautiful botanic gardens and marshes. Several buildings of this city are worth visiting. Firstly, Perdana Putra (housing the offices of the prime minister and the government secretary), Putra Mosque, Seri Perdana (official residence of the prime minister), or the Botanical Garden (hosting over 700 different tropical species).
