The Menara Tower is set up in the heart of a forest park of 28.5 acres. This is the oldest forest reserve in the country. The Menara tower was erected on the Bukit Nanas hill, which accounts for its pineapple shape. This tower rises up to 1,380 feet and is presently the fourth largest communication tower on the planet. It is possible to admire a superby 360° view from Kuala lumpur, 905 feet high. Its dome-shaped vaults are arranged in the form of the traditional Islamic Muqarnas. Its lower section symbolises the seven levels of heaven.
The tower was designed by a German architect and inaugurated by the former Prime Minister of Malaysia, Y.A.Bhg Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad in 1996. In case you want to know more about the history of the building of the tower, visit the projection room to the right of the entrance.
The Menara tower is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 11:30 AM to 4 PM.
