Ari Atoll - Island of Vilamendoo A simple 'dhoni' fishing boat afloat on the archipelago's unrivalled turquoise waters lined by the fine white sands EasyVoyage ©
One of the islands with the most varied vegetation is Vilamendhoo in the Ari atoll, 51 miles south-west of Malé. Vast parts of tropical forests have been preserved, where you will find a profusion of coconut, banyan and banana trees, as well as mangroves. The island is bordered by a splendid beach, while the reef lies merely 30 ft from the shore. It is therefore possible to alternate between snorkeling, diving and exploring the plant life in a background that has preserved its authentic character.
