In the South Malé atoll, 24 miles away from the capital, Bodufinolhu, a vast sand bank stretches out for 2,600 ft long and 100 ft wide. The beach is magnificent and the lagoon can be crossed on foot to get to two uninhabited islets. Water skiing and jet skiing can be practiced at Bodufinolhu.
