The South Nilandhoo atoll is a choice destination thanks to its preserved landscape. Open to tourists since 1998, it comprises two main islands: Meedhuffushi and Velavaru. The first lies 80 miles north-west of Malé, and the second is 78 miles away. Both islands' main offering is their beaches, as sports activities are rather limited (water skiing, diving and windsurfing).
