The Loop of Baoulé National Park is a vast protected area of 1,976,000 acres extending from Sidy through Kita to the Mauritanian border. It has several ecosystems and landscapes such as gallery forests, palm groves, bamboo forests, and lakes. The most splendid species of African antelopes can be found here, giraffes have been reintroduced and there is an abundance of monkeys and warthogs. The best season to observe this fauna is between February and June. Archaeology enthusiasts will also find a few sites in the reserve to satiate their historical appetite.
