The Marshallese are known for being the best navigators of the Pacific Ocean, and they have completely perfected their fishing skills. Traditional pirogues with asymmetrical hulls are among the symbols of the Marshall Islands. Walaps can reach 100 ft long and can transport up to 40 people, including luggage! Tipnols and korkors, which are smaller and faster, are used for fishing in the lagoons.
