Built in 1895, Saint Louis Cathedral's history goes further into the past. As early as 1671, a first church was built on this site. Burnt, rebuilt, and then destroyed again many times by the vandals of time or even by the earthquakes. It was only in the 19th century that an architect called Pierre-Henry Picq built a cathedral resistant to fire and earthquakes. It would then be restored twice. Inside, some stained-glass windows recount its turbulent history.
