The Pottery Village near Trois-Ilets consists of half a dozen of handicraft workshops; they stand together along a road covered in red dust. When visiting the village, you meet potters busy forming vases, bowls and figurines in a traditional way. On a stone of the village, this inscription from the 18th century can be read: "Here, man's work transforms the earth into gold." Today, the village is home to the top industrial clay brick and tile maker of the West Indies.
