The South-East, Sainte-Anne and Le Marin, Martinique

The peninsula located in the extreme south-east of the "Island of Flowers" has undoubtedly the most beautiful beaches, those seen in tourist brochures. On the west side of the peninsula, the beach at Sainte-Anne, Caritan Anse and the beautiful Salines beach provide an ideal setting for perfecting your tan.
The eastern coast, more wild, also reserves nice surprises, such as Ferré Cap, Cap Chevalier and Pointe Macré.
The city of Marin, to the north, is the crossing point obliged to get to the peninsula. The arrival via the N5 highway, from Fort-de-France, presents a panorama on the beach at Club Med and the dead-end of Marin (where ships took refuge in case of a cyclone). The village of Sainte-Anne, very frequented by tourists, is rather small and there are many restaurants and shops.

pros

  •   The most beautiful beaches on the island.
  •   Privileged weather.
  •   A wide choice of hotels.

cons

  •   The need to use a car.
  •   Overcrowded with tourists during peak season.

Visit The South-East, Sainte-Anne and Le Marin

  • To see

Cape Town Chevalier, its islands and wild beaches ... Magnificent ! In our opinion, the most beautiful region of Martinique. And yes ! The beach of Anse Michel is, in our opinion, more pleasant than Salines in Sainte-Anne, which is however more famous : ?he beach there is wider, more peaceful.

    To do

In Cape Chevalier, you can not miss a ride on the sea with Bébèche which takes you see the white sandbars, the natural reserves and do some snorkeling ... Walking along the coast is a very pleasant experience. Telephone. Bébèche: 06 96 91 32 34.

    To think about

If you go to sea or you sunbathe on the beach, remember to protect yourself from the sun. Cream and hats are advised !
  • To avoid

If you go snorkeling, be careful not to touch the black sea urchins, or corals. Careful! The hurricane season (September-October) should be avoided .

    To try

Rum, rum, rum. .. No, seriouslyh, you can obviously try rum, but there's also always accras, sausages, stuffed crabs, cray fish and lobster, chicken curry, coconut milk, flambée bananas ...

    To bring back

You can taste rum, jams, spices, textiles ...
