Unlike many of the Caribbean towns, Martinique displays a pretty architectural collection, which is particularly colourful. It varies from Fort de France, where the colonial past is still visible, through to Saint-Pierre and its turbulent volcanic history or even Sainte-Anne, a charming and authentic little port. The tourists are mostly concentrated around Trois-Ilets, the resort with a reputation of having lively nights and dream beaches.
