There are three exhibition rooms and a number of interesting objects in the Zouerate Museum which shed light on the country of Mauritania. The first room is dedicated to prehistory: fossilized bones, sandstone tools, pottery, polishers, bracelets, daggers and other ancient objects. In the second room, Mauritanian contemporary objects and documents are exhibited: you will find there, among other things, information on the country's irrigation system, photographs of animals and the reconstruction of a Mauritanian tent with traditional utensils. The third room is devoted to the mine (the SNIM, National Society of the Mining Industry, having financed the creation of the museum). You will also see a map of the different places where ore is exploited accompanied by explanations about the SNIM's subsidiary companies and ore samples.
