On Grande Terre, explore the interior land by driving from Mamoudzou to Combani. You will drive along the roads lined with strongly scented ylang-ylang fields, all the way to Vahibé. The village's economy relies on the distillation of this perfume plant and you will see a distillery at the entrance. A little further down the road, stop where the forest road leading to Bouyouni starts, if you walk down a little bit, you will see some wild pigs. You can then drive to Combani which used to be an important sugar farming area. Today, the spices and perfume plants have taken over, but the old refinery is still there.
