Present roughly from November to March, in the Bahia de Banderas (litterally Flag Bay) in Puerto Vallarta, on the central part of the Pacific coast, the humpback whales mate and give birth to the calves conceived the year before. The gray whales, which migrate each year from Alaska to Baja California, sometimes also stop here. Other than the whales, the bay hosts impressive under-water wildlife, especially all large animals: dolphins, giant manta rays, Bryde's whales... with the notable exception of the sharks!
