If you have some time ahead of you, don't leave Monaco without having visited the princely palace, open to the public from June to October. Built on the spot of the XIIIc Genoese fortress, it was progressively transformed by the Grimaldi family when they took possession of Monaco in the XVc. You will have to see in particular the throne room where all official ceremonies take place and the main courtyard cobbled with 3 million white pebbles. The southern wing of the palace houses the Napoleonian museum and the collection of the emperor's personal objects, as well as the historic archives of the palace. This part is closed to the public, from November 12th to December 16th. Apparently a car fanatic, Prince Rainier III put together a very beautiful collection of vintage cars. You will be able to admire almost a hundred models, displayed in a building located at the foot of the Rock.
