Dornod steppes are the privileged territory of white gazelles, wolves and red foxes, but also of particularly voracious mosquitoes. It is indeed the only region in Mongolia where the steppe is in its primitive state. Over 1,000 plant species were listed there, as well as some extremely rare animal species such as the Siberian crane.
