Requirements
A passport valid during your whole stay in the country is sufficient.
Recommendations:
The Ministry of Foreign Affaires recommends that you check that the validity of your passport covers at least your entire stay in Montenegro and recommends that you bring your national identity card with you. The Minister also advises to subscribe to insurance concerning specific assistance contracts (Europ Assistance, Inter Mutuelles Assistances...).
Please note: any foreigner going to Montenegro and staying with a local inhabitant has to declare himself/herself to the nearest police station in the city in which he/she resides.

Religion
Orthodox (majority), Catholics (Croats and Albanians), Muslims (Slavs and Albanians).

Currency
The currency is the Euro. Banks are open from 8:00am to 8:00pm, Monday to Friday, and from 8:00am to 3:00pm on Saturdays.

Local transportation
The best way to travel around Montenegro is using public transport: by bus or by train, as the roads are not very reliable. This is also why we don't recommend hiring a vehicle, especially if you are not familiar with the roads or the region.
These are also the cheapest and most practical ways to get to the most important sites. It's better to take the bus than the train, as the train is slower and generally dirtier.

Health
No particular vaccine is required. It is recommended to treat water before consumption. You can be exposed to several diseases when swimming in the waters, such as bilharzia, leptospirosis, and diarrheic diseases. Avoid walking bare foot on the sand and avoid swimming in places not intended for swimming. It is recommended to subscribe to insurance covering medical expenses and to medical repatriation insurance. As for now, there is no reason to delay a business or tourist trip to Montenegro. General hygiene advice for travellers who wish to protect themselves against microbial infections is highly recommended: - avoid consuming raw or half-cooked food, in particular meat and eggs; - wash your hands regularly.

Electricity
Voltage is 220 V. 50 Hertz. Adapters are needed.
