A former corsair capital with a sandy port, Larache is ideal for a peaceful stay. The Liberation Square occupies a central location with its arcades studded with small restaurants. From there, go to the Medina via the Moorish gate of Bab el Khemis, then to the old Spanish town and the Moulay Ismaïl avenue, on the flanks of the ocean. 3 miles to the north, you will find Lixus, the Phoenician and Roman city. According to legend, Hercules accomplished his 11th labour there. Its ruins include an amphitheatre and thermal baths that hold a Roman ceramic depicting Neptune, the sea god of the Phoenicians.
