Separated from Rabat by an estuary, Sale has preserved its Merinid monument, one of the oldest in Morocco: the Bab el Mrisa Gate. Here, you will also find the Medina whose narrow alleys form a maze, the Medersa el Hassan, a Koran school, and the Borj, a 17th century bastion offering a breathtaking view of the ocean, the estuary and Rabat. The El Ghezel souk is worth visiting for its wool and the El Merzouk souk for its jewellery.
