The Atlantic coast abounds with thuya, pine and argan trees. The tops of the argan trees produce nuts that feed herds of goats. This thorny plant with a knotty trunk grows in the south of the country, mainly in the region of Agadir. Between Kenitra and Rabat lie 321,100 acres of the Marmora cork oak forest.
