Maputo, with its streets lined with acacia and jacaranda, has retained the atmosphere of the Portuguese colonial era. It is home to two museums which are particularly worth seeing: the Natural History Museum (a gothic style building) which lists all the species present in the country; and the Colonial History Museum which is housed in the fortress - one of the oldest buildings in the capital. Walk around the city to explore its interesting architecture, colourful markets, dynamic culture and lively night life; these are all the things which characterise Maputo!
